Ghost tears

Strange how people miss you
The moment you let go
The instant you become a memory
Instead of treasuring your company
When the ghost was still made of flesh

Street Art Santiago by Lord K2

Summary

Santiago, with its deeply evolved and extremely active underground graffiti scene, bursts at the seams with an abundance of eye-popping, jaw-dropping murals. Stencil graffiti artist Lord K2 documents 14 neighborhoods within the capital of Chile with his arresting photography and intimate conversations with local artists.

Through more than 200 images and 80 interviews, learn how street art was influenced by American, European, and Brazilian graffiti and how its evolution runs parallel to the political history of the nation itself.

During the Cold War, nationalist muralist brigades spread socialist idealism through symbols of power and oppression. Santiago’s repressed lower classes gradually usurped the art form, and murals eventually became a weapon of resistance.

This vibrant city, with its array of distinct cultural districts, now invites you to experience its fascinating and tightly knit artistic community that has flourished since the fall of Pinochet’s dictatorship in 1990.

Impressions
I was discussing Design and Art with a graphic designer from Ecuador recently, who was having the same thoughts that these artists in this awesome book.
Latin America has taken some time to figure out what were their artistic and cultural roots because they were often copying what was done in America.
And when you see the richness of the drawings and paintings represented in this book, it's a very good thing that artists are coming back to their country artistic richness and beauty

I've really enjoyed the quotes that explain the personal vision of street art and graffiti from the different artists. Personally, using art to brighten a neighborhood and children views, it's a great way to express your creativity.

This book told you about Art and especially the varity encountered and expressed in Santiago, Chile.
Really like how it was written and made.
A great one!

Serene Acceptance

Serene Acceptance
You do not complete my existence
You just add intensity to my reality
If fierce flames emerge in our presence
Infinite possibilities will define our destiny

Nude Sketch

Nude Sketch

Except my obsession for hands, I don't draw people as I'm having trouble with nose and lips.

But for some time now, I'm trying body part and nude.
There is something beautiful in the lines and shape of a corpse. And I find women bodies softer, more round and easier to start.
I may continue on this road and even try a portrait one day!
LOL...laughing in advance...

Pont de Billancourt

Pont de Billancourt

I live nearby and I often take this bridge to catch the Tramway.
Everytime, I'm looking at the Seine to see if people are rowing, if the water is calm or agitated. The scenary changes, the colors too depending of the weather and the season.

I'm enjoying this crossing even if the view is not spectacular. On the other side, you can spot the Eiffel Tour from afar but strangely, it's always this road I'm taking. :-D
I guess, I'm a creature of habit!

Anyway, after taking a lot of pics during the past year, I've finally decided to paint my bridge!

The water was a bit muddy so it may look like grass. Lol!

Mermaid

Crazy Mermaid
A mixed between Medusa hair and a peaceful sirene. LOL!

One of my friend was talking about her love of mermaid and I thought I will try to draw one with pastels.
It's my first try and it's not at all what I'd remember from by childhood, especially my crayola days.
:-D

It's actually easy to use and not blending how I've pictured it in my mind. It will be great for landscape but I really think I'm craving paint.
Of course, I will keep going to learn about this medium and to see the possibilites I will have as soon as I will master it more.

Will also probably mess with acrylic as my Bday is coming and I'm looking to treat myself to something I'm sure I will use that will make me happy.
And art is always a good way to do so!

Bouncing Heart
He can skip a beat just at the very thought of you...

Lol!
Was listening to Nat King Cole. :-D
Never let me listen to sentimental music or you see whatis happening!

To be honest, I was just on my way to draw a hand when I've started to create this doodle with my pen.
The proportion are a bit messy with the thumb and the lines a bit rough.
